Hyundai Sonata Supersite

Question: My 1999 hyundai sonata speed drop tremendously?

I can't seem to find out why? while driving my sonata the speedometer seems to drop to 55 miles per hour after driving it a good 8- 10 miles and it won't go back and the car acts up. I was thinking it could be the transmission but I don't wanna buy a new one until I'm sure that is the problem.

Try changing the spark plugs it usually is the problem for me
